I’ve trained with and taken classes with Jacob for over 6 years. As a teacher, he’s very thoughtful in the material he presents and the drills he has us do. He’s very attentive and makes sure everyone has the moves down. He’s also super friendly and approachable. If you’re looking for a great competitor and teacher to learn from, Jacob’s your guy!

Jacob Hillebrand is a phenomenal competitor AND instructor in BJJ. You might find someone who is one or the other but it can be hard to find both, but not at 10th Planet Oakland. Whether you want to be the next world champion, learn how to defend yourself, just want a fun way to get in shape and make new friends, or all of the above look no further. Michael can teach a class to brand new students AND black belts at the same time and keep things easy and accessible to the beginners but also detailed enough to engage the advanced students. Can’t recommend this place enough!!!!!
